Long Beach Elopement Photography is something I really would love to do more of. I grew up in Long Beach, New York running around the streets and beaches all summer with close friends on and around my block. We had a tight neighborhood and all got along well. So, when one of those long time friends asked me to photograph his elopement on that very same beach, I said, “hell yeah!”
Chris and Jamilynn eloped on the beach right up the block, with a few close friends and family members. The light was just over the buildings in the back, there was a soft breeze and the bride looked beautiful. I know, perfect.
I didn’t know they were surprising Chris’s parents, but when they arrived and delivered the news, they were ecstatic. Once everyone arrived we made our way down from the boardwalk to the shoreline on Lindell Boulevard in Long Beach, New York. Chris and Jamie’s friend began officiating while everyone stood around. Shortly after, Jamie and Chris read their vows to each other and then exchanged rings.
Once the ceremony ended they kissed and kissed and celebrated with champagne. I was able to grab some awesome backlit images of the newlywed couple kissing with the orange sun bursting through. We also made sure to get some photos with the family and friends that came to witness the elopement.
After I delivered the images, Chris told me Jamie was crying because of how much she loved them. That reaction to me is why I got into this profession. Sending off images to a beach wedding that is such an important part of someone’s life can make you nervous. But when you put your hard work into your art and the client is filled with emotion, it is an extremely rewarding feeling.
I was so happy to deliver these images to the new happily married couple and hope to do more Long Beach Elopement Photography sessions in the future. Congratulations Chris and Jamie!
