It was the most beautiful Autumn day for John and Emily’s Ocean Club wedding.
We began the day shooting in Rockaway for John and Emily’s Ocean Club wedding. Emily was getting ready in their spacious high rise apartment building and was anxious for the first look. We walked out to the beach in front where they saw each other for the first time. Earlier in the year I had shot their engagement photos, so I knew these two were electric and so in love. It was a very bright time of day, so we moved around to try and find some shaded areas. There weren’t many around, but the ones we found made for some beautiful wedding portraits.
John and Emily walking the streets of Rockaway madly in love on their wedding day was perfect. Laughing, smiling, kissing, and posing for their photos like they’ve done it a million times. We moved over to the Ocean Club a bit early to photograph the family. Everyone was in such high spirits. Still dealing with a bright sun, we photographed the family in the walkway leading to the beach. The Ocean Club does an amazing job and the ceremony space looked incredible.
As we got ready for the ceremony, the sun fell to a perfect angle in the sky. As they read their vows to each other most of their guests were fighting back tears. I felt blessed to be capturing these moments for them. The ceremony concluded and before the sun set we ran out for some more portraits in the golden light. It was literally perfect. John and Emily, the sunset, the beach, and the emotion all came together for some of what I think it my best work so far.
I am so happy to now call John and Emily close friends. You can find Emily’s review here from their Ocean Club Wedding.
